The western segment of 9.98 miles 16.06km runs from US Route 49 US49 at Blackton to US49Highway241. Another segment of 8.89 miles 14.31km runs north from Highway1 and Highway316 near Turner to US49 in rural Phillips County.
The route begins at US49 at Blackton and runs north to a junction with US79 in Monroe. The highway turns due west after this intersection until meeting Highway39Spur AR39S, which connects to US49.
